Dispatches from the Long Walk: "Late Night"

It's closing in on 12:51 A.M. We've got about eight hours left.

Virle and Joeie were here until a few minutes ago helping pack the last 14 boxes. Tali is sitting at the table eating the ice cream from our freezer. She says it's settling her stomach. Carol is here too, helping Babs put the last of the stuff together.

There are presents and then there is presence. The latter given by these dear friends is the best gift one can give.
